The real wood overlay on these garage doors have a custom, handcrafted design that is meticulously detailed. They also have a few wood material choices that will cover the door with your choice of either paint or stain grade lumber. Whichever choice you choose the doors are shipped in their natural wood finish and will require finishing except the paint grade doors can be factory prime painted as an option. It is important to note that Amarr does require you to finish all six sides of each and every section within two days of you receiving the doors and they must be finished prior to actually having the garage doors installed.
The under-laying wood base-ply options are 5/8” MDO plywood (paint grade only), 1/2” marine grade plywood, 5/8” incense cedar, 5/8” clear vertical grain cedar, 5/8” Spanish clear, or 5/8” mahogany. Then for your wood trim overlay options you have the choice of 5/8” rot-resistant extra (paint grade only), 5/8” incense cedar, 5/8” clear vertical grain cedar, 5/8” Spanish clear, or 5/8” mahogany. Although these are their wood options some other wood materials are available upon request and you should check with your local Amarr garage door dealer to find out which other ones are available.
Lastly they are an insulated garage door that comes with a polystyrene insulation that gives you a 9.25 R-Value. The calculated garage door section R-Values are in accordance withDASMA TDS-163.
